Wow, two of my pieces of jewellery have been voted into the Top 10 list of best handmade graduation gifts for her. There were over 16,000 votes and my two pendants featured in 6th and 8th position.
Handmade Top 10 is designed to showcase the best items on Etsy and from the hundreds of thousands of items, I feel really quite proud that two of mine were chosen as some of the very best. This is the final list. You can click on the pictures to be taken straight to the items.

Latest BNS Sale collection, my Depths of the Oceans Earrings are featured
This is the latest collection on Etsy from the Big Spenders group. This is another BNS Sale, Buy N Stay. Anyone of course can buy any of the items from any of the featured shops, but its a fabulous deal because if you have an Etsy shop of your own, then you buy yourself a spot in the next, and subsquent sales. Three new listings in the shop today.
I had a 'making' day today. Time mostly spent away from the computer and at my crafting table. Over the next couple of days, some new items will be added to the shop. These are the first three brand new additions.
A small necklace pendant made of 99.9% solid silver, with a turquoise genuine freshwater pearl dangle. This item is handmade and matches earrings also in the shop.
The classic pearl bracelet with a difference. Pearls in all shades from white, ivory and cream, in all shapes and sizes from small round, to ovals and other smooth and interesting shapes. For those classic little black dress days or smart for the office, but not boring like your grand mother used to wear!
This earrings are handmade from 99.9% solid silver. The main body of each earrings is decorated with a very fine raised Oriental style of writing. Amethyst crystal beads complete the rich look.
Sterling silver fittings have been used throughout. The earrings have been given a light patina to give them more of an ancient feel. Total length top to bottom of the solid silver element is approx 32mm and the total length from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the dangle is approx 50mm, just under 2 inches.
There are other Asian or Oriental inspired items in my shop – check them out to buy a matching set of pendant and earrings.

The solid silver pendant measures approx 18mm square and is decorated with a detailed design of shells and starfish. The real pearl hangs from a sterling silver ball headpin and a sterling silver bail adjustable bail is fitted. The bail is wide enough to take a cord, chain or ribbon of your choice.
It comes with a turquoise soft suede effect necklace with silver plated fittings so you can wear it right away.

How to add an avatar when you leave blog comments
I like to leave comments on interesting blog posts on all sorts of subjects. But while other comments have a great little picture of the person leaving the comment, mine had a grey unisex person. Hmm. Then I came across this great Blog topic on how to sign up for Gravatar and then you have a picture next to your comments. Please sign up, set up your avatar and then leave a comment on the blog so I can see your little pictures.

Another feature in a Treasury Collection - Cherry Blossom Earrings
My Cherry Blossom Earrings have been featured in a special collection on Etsy this evening. This is a BNS - short for Buy N Stay. This means the featured shops stay in place for the whole round, people are invited to buy any item from any of the featured shops with no minimum. If you buy and you have an Etsy shop yourself, you buy yourself a place in the next round, the next advertised BNS sale. This really is a great way to advertise, there is no minimum spend so spend a little, or spend a lot, but in addition to the advertising you actually receive the item you bought as well - Bonus.
When you shop is featured, there are a total of 16 featured shops all keen to get sales. Therefore each of the shops promotes the treasury collection via their twitter, blog, facebook, emails etc so you have all of those people advertising for you. Your shop can reach a much wider audience this way.
If your shop has many items priced under $10 and your shipping is reasonable, you can expect people to buy a small something from you to buy themselves a place in the next round of sales and advertising. A great way for smaller shops to gain access to more potential customers.
And a great way to socialise and 'meet' other Etsy sellers and swap tips too.
